Through every lens, lies a story.
At Glass Novel Studios, I partner with my camera to bring your tale to life. Everyone has a story. I very much hope to tell yours.
What makes my portrait photography different?
I want your experience with me to be just as memorable as the photos themselves. Crack a joke, share a story, talk about your favorite movie, or any other any other catalyst that makes your spirit shine. Some of my favorite photos come happen in-between poses where neither of us were expecting it.
I make a conscious effort to be adaptable to my clients. This means using various perspectives and lighting techniques to match the subject’s personality. What’s different about me is that I’m also a video editor. I can put your stills into motion via custom reels to help elevate your story. Visit the Video Editing menu item within the portfolio on this site to learn more.
I provide pet portraits.
My wife and I co-own Second Chances Veterinary Care, located in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She’s the vet. I am simply her humble servant (don’t tell her I said that).
Pairing this opportunity with my photography was a no-brainer. Plus, there is an incentive for current SCVC customers to receive my photography services at a reduced rate. Visit the About, and Pricing & Booking sections on this site for more information.
I am very transparent with my clients. I always ask ahead of time what they are looking for so that I may plan accordingly. I also like to try different things during photo shoots such as different perspectives, expressions, and a whatever our imaginations can cook up.
Here are a few about my workflow:
I encourage my clients to come to the table with their own ideas, and experiment.
My approach to editing is fairly straightforward using a combination of standard color, and black and white. As needed, I may branch out and stylize the photo further depending on the client’s preferences.
Photo touch-ups often include the following:
Minor blemish removal
Minor skin-smoothing and frequency separation
Dodging and burning (light and dark balancing)
Skin tone and overall color balancing
Stray hair removal/management
AI: Only used as needed. Generally, I use it for removing potentially unwanted elements that sneak into the photo.
Photos are shot in RAW format for maximum detail and color representation.
I generally don’t use props. However, I do encourage clients with a particular vocation (guitarist, dancer, etc…) to work with me on expressing their craft.
All photos are edited with a combination of Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
I produce all edited images in multiple formats including maximum resolution for large scale prints, and smaller versions optimized for social media.
